Groningen’s Quest for Dominance DoubleDigit Signings in the Transfer Market

Groningen not yet finished in transfer market: double digits in new signings

Club still active in acquiring players

FC Groningen is not yet done with their transfer activities this summer. The Dutch football club is looking to acquire at least two more players before the closing of the transfer market.

Since the start of the transfer period, Groningen already brought in eight new players. Among these signings are some promising young talents from the Netherlands and abroad. They also secured the services of experienced goalkeeper Peter Leeuwenburgh.

Despite the considerable amount of signings, the club is still looking for reinforcements. Recently, they made an offer for Serbian midfielder Slavoljub Srnic, who played for Red Star Belgrade last season.

The club’s management stated that they intend to have a more complete squad for the upcoming season. Groningen aims not only to compete in the Dutch Eredivisie but also in the KNVB Cup and the Europa League.

What do you think about FC Groningen’s current transfer strategy?

Do you believe that the club should continue to make signings to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season? Or do you think that they should be content with their current signings and focus on team building instead? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
