Jude Bellingham Wins Golden Boy Award
Real Madrid Midfielder Receives Accolade in Turin
Jude Bellingham has been crowned the winner of the Golden Boy Award. The 20-year-old midfielder from Real Madrid will receive the prestigious prize on December 4th at a gala in Turin.
Bellingham has been the favorite for some time now. The English international made a top transfer from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid last summer, for which the club paid over €100 million. His impact at the club has been immediate. He has already scored 13 goals and provided three assists in 14 matches. The attacking midfielder played a key role in Real Madrid’s victory over FC Barcelona in El Clásico, scoring two goals in the match (1-2).
Bellingham follows in the footsteps of previous winners Gavi and Pedri, both his former teammates. Notable past recipients of the Golden Boy Award include Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé. Dutch players Rafael van der Vaart (2003) and Matthijs de Ligt (2018) have also received the prestigious accolade.
